HOTA Gold Coast – Outdoor Stage

The construction of this world-class cultural precinct – the destination for arts, culture and creative enterprise – will be the realisation of a vision 30 years in the planning. The first stage costing $37M was completed before the Commonwealth Games in early 2018.

Stage 1 will feature an outdoor event platform in a garden-style amphitheatre with a concert lawn accommodating an audience of up to 5,000. A new outdoor art-scape surrounding Evandale Lake will host markets, festivals, cinema and family recreational spaces.

Every sophisticated city in the world has its celebrated entertainment district – the heart of its unique cultural identity – now the GC will have its very own.

BSF were commissioned to construct a massive, yet elegant, honeycombed shade canopy over the outdoor stage.

The Project is the recipient of a Steel Excellence Awards High Commendation in Buildings – Small Projects for 2018.
